Managing Director

Our client is an international manufacturer, within the construction sector.  Role based in Malaysia (prefered) or Singapore.

Overall responsibility for the profitability of sales & service operation.   Meets or exceeds all Balanced Scorecard objectives including financial, customer, process, and employee development.
Grows the business profitably through the development of existing and new customers.  Identifies new markets.  Responsible to lead a sales & service team to meet targeted ROI, revenue and margins.  Meets with key customers, assisting sales force with maintaining relationships and negotiation and closing orders.
Runs the growing business by supervising resources and partnering with key corporate, manufacturing and distribution personnel, including matrix support areas, to meet service goals. Coordinates product delivery by managing engineering and customer support functions and reviewing scheduling of product.  Must ensure collection of accounts is completed.
Trains and familiarizes new Sales Managers with established policies, practices, products and services.   Knows and understands the competition and teaches company products and services and how they compare in the market.  Coaches sales team to create innovative forming solutions.  Responsible for overall development and growth of sales staff, including mentoring.
Develops and implements strategic marketing and sales plan.  Forecasts to achieve corporate and country objectives for products and services.  Tracks competition products and customer base.  Creates strategies to penetrate competition base. 
Leads and directs personnel functions such as selection, hiring, developing and training of new and existing employees, employee reviews and education requirements.  Responsible for turnover and attrition objectives of district.
Performs other job-related duties and special projects as required.
Proven sales experience - competitive drive, strategic, developing teams, leading from the front, solution selling, enjoys winning and adding value.
Entrepreneurial mindset.

Degree in sales, marketing, engineering or equivalent professional experience within the construction industry (formwork and/or heavy civils sector advantageous).    
Leadership, problem solving, organisational, training, and PC skills.
Ability to formulate and execute an annual sales and service strategy. 
Creative thinker, self-motivator with the ability to negotiate. 
Ability to anticipate and resolve issues. 
Must work effectively under pressure, exercise good judgment, and maintain confidentiality. 
Travel required.
Fluent in English and local language/s with excellent communication skills.
P&L exposure advantageous.
